The Municipal Library of Komotini

It was founded by a unanimous decision of the Municipal Council on May 19, 1954, and operates as a General - Popular and lending library since 1986.

It is an institution of learning, education, and information and provides services Free and Equal to every citizen without discrimination.

It is hosted in the renovated historical building "Mansion Tsanakli".
The first day of operation in the new building was the 3rd of September 2020.

It has 30,000 book titles, periodicals and a local press archive since 1965.
On the 2nd floor of the building you will find a reading room.

Particular importance is given to the children's and adolescent section, as well as to the collection of local history and folklore.

Since relocation in September 2020 to date:
3,800 new members who remain active
5,000 book loans
150 School Departments made visits
